Job Purpose:

We are searching for a talented and passionate Bid Writer who will play a crucial role in securing the funding necessary to support our mission. This is a unique opportunity for someone who is not only skilled in crafting compelling grant proposals but also has a keen eye for detail in proofreading and a flair for assisting with communications. Your expertise will help us continue to make a significant impact in Sheffield, turning our vision into reality.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Identify, develop, and write high-quality grant proposals, ensuring they are compelling, accurate, and timely.

  • Proofread and edit proposals, reports, and communications material to ensure clarity, grammatical accuracy, and adherence to brand tone.

  • Assist in the development and execution of our communication strategy, including content creation for social media, newsletters, and press releases.

  • Work closely with the team to understand project needs and outcomes, ensuring proposals align with our mission and objectives.

  • Conduct research to identify potential funding opportunities and stay abreast of trends in grant writing and philanthropy.

  • Collaborate with project leads to gather the necessary information for reports and updates to funders and stakeholders.

Skills & Experience:

We are looking for:

  • A dynamic individual with proven experience in bid writing and a successful track record of securing grants.

  • Excellent written communication skills, with the ability to convey complex ideas in a clear, persuasive manner.

  • Strong attention to detail and proofreading skills.

  • Experience in communications, with the ability to support our messaging across various platforms.

  • A team player with a passion for making a lasting impact in the community.

  • A member of a Christian church in Sheffield and a passion for the mission of Together for Sheffield and Arise Sheffield.

This post is subject to an Occupational Requirement under the provisions made in the Equality Act 2010 that the post holder has an active faith in Jesus and an active involvement in a church.

Location: Tuesdays or Wednesdays to be based at our Stannington office, with options to work from home around this.

Contract Type: Fixed-term Contract (12 months)

Hours: Part-time, 2-3 days a week. Option for flexible working, e.g. school hours only or similar arrangements.

Salary & Benefits: £23,000-£29,000 (pro-rata) depending on experience and expertise. 7.5% employer pension contributions with Nest pensions.

Holiday: 25 days plus bank holidays (pro-rata).
